“For you, brethren, have been called to liberty;

only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh,
but through love serve one another.”

Galatians 5:13

Women’s Ministry Council

By submitting to God in humility of heart, we purpose to assist the Elders of Tulsa Bible Church in serving the entire body of women and to provide Biblical guidance for those women who desire to begin new ministries at TBC.  We seek to direct the women who are new to the church, as well as the women who are already members, to serve the body in all areas of need.  We desire to use these relationships as a means to encourage and challenge each woman to glorify the Lord and to grow in Christ-likeness.

Tulsa Bible Church is blessed with women who have a heart to serve the needs of other women and the ministries in which they have primary roles.  Recently, the Elder Board invited the following ladies to serve as overseer under the title of WOMEN’S MINISTRY COUNCIL: Jan Berman (chairperson), Sandy Coffman, Linda Johnson, Donna Martin, Jama Raubach, Nancy Skinner, Robbie Thomas.

This fall the Women’s Ministry Council (WMC) will be providing the Treasure Hunt Surveys to TBC women for the purpose of organizing and connecting women into a useful and functioning tool for the Lord.  These will be available in the flock Sunday School room, at the Welcome Center and in the FOF classes.

Facilitators who were prayerfully selected to organize teams of women to serve in these areas are:

Matheteuo Ministry

Matheteuo is the Greek word for “make disciples” in Matthew 28:19.  The Matheteuo Ministry at Tulsa Bible Church is women discipling women to continually live and grow in love and obedience to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior through the power of the Holy Spirit and in accordance with God’s Holy Word.  The purpose of one-on-one discipling ministry is for women more mature in their walk with the Lord to come alongside a younger woman, teaching, encouraging and showing by example how to love the Lord with all one’s heart and to put Him first in every area of life, in order that those younger in the Lord will mature in their faith and obedience, that God may be glorified in all that we do and that His Church will be holy.

Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

Monthly Elder/Deacon Dinners

Once a month the deacons and elders gather for dinner along with their meeting.  Volunteers serve and clean up the meal.  The food is either catered or prepared by a volunteer cook.  This ministry provides the opportunity to serve the leaders of our church flock.  The dinner takes place on the second Tuesday evening of each month.

If you are interested in being a part of this ministry just one time or multiple times, contact Kay Watson at 296-0550 or rkccwatson@sbcglobal.net.

Wedding/Baby Shower Ministry

The purpose of the Shower Ministry is to plan/host wedding or baby showers that are not being done through a flock or to assist a flock that has several showers in a short period of time.  Ladies who are involved in this ministry will have a wonderful opportunity to practice what God’s word says in Romans 12:10-11, “Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.

The responsibilities of the shower ministry will vary from shower to shower.  The specific areas of this ministry include:  planning/coordinating a shower, serving at a shower, cleaning up after a shower, providing a food or drink, providing a home, attending, giving a devotional or planning shower games.

If you are interested in being a part of this ministry, you may contact:

Ivory Hitz (557-6480) or e-mail:  cnihitz@netzero.com.

Women’s Visitation & Card Ministry

The purpose of the Visitation and Card Ministry is to reach out to the women of Tulsa Bible Church in an effort to encourage, comfort and strengthen the Body of Christ.  There are many opportunities to, “Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.”  (Romans 12:15)  Our team is available to assist the church staff, elders, deacons, and flocks by making hospital and home visits, calls, send cards, in working in conjunction with other Women’s Ministry teams.  As this vital ministry develops, we hope to coordinate regular visits to women who are homebound, widows, new mothers, and those who are hospitalized.  We also want to share encouragement through the development of a Card Ministry.  What a blessing and privilege it is to bear one another’s burdens with the comfort and hope we have through Scripture…that we may be like-minded toward one another and with one mouth glorify God (from Romans 15:4-5).

II Corinthians 1:4 is one of our reasons for serving, “…that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”  In the process of reaching out to others, we also hope to encourage our team members through regular group prayer times.

TBC   Church–Wide Fellowship Ministry

The purpose and responsibility of the committee is to plan, direct and oversee the operations of elder-directed church wide events, from the initial request to the final report of an event.  This excludes the Missions Conference week which is under the direction of the Missions Committee.

Past events include Easter Sunrise Brunches, “Right Hand of Fellowships,” Poundings, May’s Memorial Sunday Picnic, Recognition Receptions, and Potluck Dinners.

This committee may sound overwhelming; however, working together with other TBC saints is enjoyable, sometimes laughable, and very rewarding.

2 Corinthians 9:12, “this service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.”

If you are interested in serving on this committee, please contact:

Nancy Skinner at 764-9676.

Resource Facilitator

The Resource Facilitator is the liaison between the Women’s Ministry Council and the person and/or persons scheduling a church event.  After the event has been registered with the church office, my goal is to assist and support the person or persons who have scheduled the event.  If needed, I will answer questions about the resources that are available.

I will endeavor to pass along helpful information about the church facilities, good stewardship of these facilities and guidance regarding the desires of the elders for our facilities.  I will try to assist and encourage regarding budget, church accounts, inventory of resources, guidelines for kitchen use, and clean-up instructions. If I can assist you in planning a church event, please contact:

Deb Nelson at 451-6423.

Meals Ministry

Each flock has the primary responsibility for providing meals for members of their flock who need assistance during times of health problems, the birth of babies, and grieving.  The purpose of this ministry team is to assist the flock leaders when there is a need for extra help with meals.  For example, a flock may have several new babies in a season; or may have a family who needs meal help for an extended period of weeks or months because of trails that family is going through. If you would like to join our team in assisting the flocks, please contact:

Karri Payne 743-8959.
