Mike McGowan

Mike first realized his need for a relationship with Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in 1979 through his boss at Williams Exploration.  In 1982 Mike married Leslie who recently retired from Mend Medical Services where Mike currently volunteers.  He and Leslie have three children Joshua (married to Danielle), Shannon (an Attorney in Washington DC) and Andrew (a local insurance agent).  Mike has been active in his children’s lives since their birth – coaching soccer and baseball, AWANA as well as encouraging them in their spiritual lives and their careers.

Mike has been attending Tulsa Bible Church since 2003 and has been an elder since 2023.  Before serving on the Elder Board, Mike was a member of the Deacon Board for many years.  Mike’s ministry at TBC has focused on encouraging the leaders of the Adult Fellowships and Connection Groups.  Mike and Leslie have been involved in leading the Ambassador Adult Fellowship since 2004.

Mike is actively involved in the oil and gas industry as a geologist.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science in Geology.
