Energized by Grace

Christ's church as a mission that Paul summarized as pleasing God
(1 Thessalonians 4:1). This mission is accomplished by the proclamation of a message Paul summarized as the gospel of grace (Acts 20:24). Finally a method is spelled out in Titus 2:11-14 - believers are energized by God's grace to live in a way that is otherwise impossible.

Christ’s church may be described as a group of people energized by grace to do the impossible for the glory of God. The mission of sending ordinary people to reach every person in the world seems impossible. The message of grace - that God did everything possible to be done and anyone can come to Him merely by faith seems impossible. And that everything would be through the method of people being energized by the Spirit of God seems impossible. Yet Christ’s church is here and going throughout the world with His glorious Gospel of Grace. Learn more...

TBC Memory Verses
MARK 2:16-17, NKJV
And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Him eating with the tax collectors and sinners, they said to His disciples, How is it that He eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?” When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to
repentance.”

Items Needed For Mexico Missions Trip
During the TBC Family Missions Trip to Mexico in May we will be visiting a colonia (neighborhood). Some of the ladies in our group will be ministering to the ladies of the colonia through a Bible lesson and a hair washing. The hair washing is not only very special for those who are able to serve the ladies by washing their hair, but it is also very special for the ladies of the colonia who do not have running water. If you would like to help be a part of this ministry, you may donate new or gently used bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, or lotion for us to use at the hair washing and as a gift to the ladies. You may drop items off in the box labeled “Mexico Missions Trip” that is located in the Lighthouse Flock by Sunday, April 27th. If you have any questions you may contact Julianna Adams.

    Missions Life Line Sunday
    1. The Lifeline Ministry serves as the primary point of contact for TBC missionaries. Each missionary whom TBC supports has Lifeline couples assigned to maintain contact throughout the year.
    2. Lifeline equips saints at TBC to encourage and minister, through regular communication and prayer, to the over forty missionary families supported by TBC. This ministry is a great way to involve an expose individuals and families to the missions field. Please consider and pray about “holding the ropes” for a TBC missionary and becoming a partner in the ministry in which they are serving.

Flee the Lusts of the Flesh
    Remember Samson

Pastor John Barnett Our God is jealous and He is Holy. The sins He hated in the Old Testament, He hates in the New Testament. What would offend someone who loved us so much that He wants us to be utterly loyal to Him? We become an enemy of God when we become friendly with the world. And what is friendship with the world again? As for the lusts of the flesh:

"Lust of flesh” is being tempted by our flesh to chase pleasures, this equals the
    cravings of the body.
These are all of the sensual temptations. This is lust for another person. The desire to have and enjoy the body of an individual, either mentally or physically, even though such pleasure is illegal and/or immoral. We can feed these lusts by going to places where we see uncovered bodies, or watching TV and movies that have various states of immodesty, or by seeking out images in magazines and online that feed these evil desires.
